Pine 4.01 and 4.02 have a bug which consistently causes a core dump during certain update operations on distribution lists (at least on the 2 architectures I've used it on), so upgrading to one of these isn't without drawbacks until this problem is solved. In my experience, 3.96 is just as stable as 3.95 which ExecPC currently has installed. I have no need for the new features, but of course others may find them useful. I'm not sure what benefits versions of Lynx newer than 2.7.1 offer, but I was happy when support for frames and CSIMs was added a few versions back.
