Support regarding the `procmail' and `vacation' programs. I'm posting a copy here in case any followers of this group might have comments on this or are interested in this topic. ========================== Concentric Tech. Support: Are there any restrictions in place on `/bin/procmail'? I will be going on vacation next week and am trying to set up a vacation autoresponder. When I place a valid `.procmailrc' in my home directory, it does not seem to have any effect. `procmail -v' indicates that you're using the standard location for the user rc file, so I can not figure out why this is not working. My script has dependencies on `/bin/sh' and `formail' (assumed to be in the system path). This script works properly on other hosts, but this is my first time trying it since I changed my primary ISP to Concentric. I could not find any reference to the `procmail' or `vacation' programs on the Concentric Website. If `procmail' is not usable, is `vacation'? I had gotten out of the habit of using `vacation' due to a security hole found a few years back. I notice Concentric has a 1987 version of `vacation' installed (at least according to the man page on viking), so I'm assuming that this version has the security hole.
