I'm posting a copy here in case another user has had experience with this and would like to comment. ------- To: help@execpc.com Date: 06:57 PM 5/26/1999 -0400 Subject: procmail: calling awk, tail, etc. Hello, Does the machine that procmail runs on have access to stream handlers such as `tail' and `awk'? I've tried both calling these with their unadorned names and with the complete path as they exist on earth, but procmail can't find them in either case. Here is the relevant output from procmail's verbose mode (mail directed to myself for testing): ===== procmail: Executing " formail -k -X"From" -X"Date" -X"Subject" \ | formail -A"To: edurant@execpc.com" \ -A"X-Loop: edurant@execpc.com" \ | /usr/ucb/tail +2 \ | /usr/local/bin/awk \ "{ while(i<500) { print; i += length; next; } }" \ | $SENDMAIL -oi -t" /bin/sh: /usr/ucb/tail: No such file or directory /bin/sh: /usr/local/bin/awk: No such file or directory ===== Thank You, Eric Durant --- Website: http://www.edurant.com/ ICQ: 9118339
