I haven't used Windows 2000, but it sounds like it is similar to Windows NT 4.0 as far as setting up the path goes. If that's correct, you almost did the correct thing. When you get to the "System Variables" view, there should be an existing variable called "Path". To the end of this, add ";C:\texmf\miktex\bin" (or whatever the location of your MikTeX bin directory is), select "Set", "Apply" and "OK". Under NT 4, a reboot is not necessary; any shells started *after* you make this change will have the new path. -- Eric Durant http://www.edurant.com/
